So it's been a crappy last few days. I've been "under the weather"
I woke up Sunday with a pain in the boobs and lovely red patches. By the end of the day the left has spread and the pain had gotten worse.
I sent out a call to my cousin...who is now my faerie godmother!
tylenol and echinacea tea for the last two days has kept it from spreading, but I feared it was an infection or something so I gave my new OB a call and got in this morning.
Turns out I have something called Raynaud's phenomenon. The phenomenon is believed to be the result of vasospasms that decrease
blood supply to the respective regions. Stress and cold are classic
triggers of the phenomenon. It normally happens in fingers, noses or ears...but it's my luck that I get it in the tots!
On another, yet related note, I LOVE my new OB! She is the sweetest thing and everyone in her office is so nice. I'm so happy I switched. I can't imagine anyone else helping me birth this baby.
I go back to see her again for a "real" appointment in another week, that's when we will schedule the next ultrasound. She said It would be scheduled between week 18 and 20...I'm going for the sooner the better!
I am also too far along to re take the chromosomal tests...which is going to make Andy so soooo happy. {please read that in a sarcastic tone}
Ok I'm off to do way too much class work...oh my pregnant brain, sometimes I don't know how I keep going.
Oh boy...that doesn't sound fun! What is it with us getting random illnesses during pregnancy? You with Reynaud's, and me with the infected sweat gland goodness...if I ever get pregnant again, that will be the one thing I hope NEVER comes back. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh man! I am so so sorry. Hoping that you get better soon and so happy that you've found a new OB that you like!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is so random to have Reynaud's in your tots, I've heard of it in fingers. What a bummer. Hope you get better soon.
