39&40 week bumpdate

yep still pregnant
woo hoo
2days over due and counting.

I'm so ready to have this kid it's not even funny!
I'm uncomfortable...and oh so tired.

The last two weeks have been a vast difference from the one before,
it's been cool and rainy
and I love it.

I went to the dr. Friday and she checked...
only at 2 {dilated} which is up from 1 last Friday.
but he's at +2 so that's something
I also lost my plug on Saturday...sorry TMI and she scraped my membranes this last Friday.
HOLY HELL that felt fantastic!
It was like she was reaching up there and patting him on the head!

I still have his feet in my ribs, so I have no hope of him dropping before I go into labor...
or have him evicted.
Which will be next Wednesday/Thursday if he isn't here by then.
I have an appointment Wednesday morning to be checked, if my cervix is still at 50% she will put me in over night {7pm-7am} with Cervidil and then Thursday morning she will break my water and see how it goes...I'm hoping I don't need Pitocin.
Well if we are being honest I hope I go into labor before then.

Doc also said she thinks he's around 7lbs...I'm hoping she's guessing big ;)
I still haven't swelled, I'm still wearing my rings which is awesome.
and surprisingly I'm still in some non-maternity shirts...

38 week bumpdate

It's hot out people!
the heat index yesterday was 102!
the whole week has been like that...thankfully it's cooling off now
that is if you call mid to high 80's cooling off.

Somehow {by the grace of God} my mom and I managed to get everything done this week!
hospital bags are packed
rooms are clean
floors mopped
baby cloths all washed and put away
there is nothing left to be done
I'm ready for this kid to be here...
which means he won't for a few more weeks
because that's how my luck goes.

I'm so ready, my back can't take much more.
I get to the point, about dinner time, where I can barely walk thanks to the lower back pain.
not to mention the shooting sciatic pain.

I really want this kid to bake for another 2 weeks, but I'm hoping they go fast!
I want him fully baked for the obvious reasons....and a selfish one too.

you see I want his birthstone to be the green of August and not the red of July.
why you aks?
well Andy's birthstone is September, which is blue. Mine is November, which is yellow...
and blue and yellow make green.
How cool would that be?

I know I'm a nerd {but I still think it's kinda awesome}

anyways on to bumpshots

37 week bumbpdate

I'm feeling much much better now...thanks to antibiotics!
Just the usual worn out one would expect form being 9 months pregnant.
That and I've had so back pains. I think the kid has been pressing on something because the last few days have been bad, I can't do much before I have to sit for a bit just to rest my back.
The yoga ball has been a God send.
I sit on it more than I sit on anything these days.

I've got one heck of a list of "to dos" for this week, but thankfully my mom has two days off and I plan on taking FULL advantage of her amazing ability to get crap done!

The husband is starting to freak a bit...
every other sentence out of his mouth is "we need to get it done, you could have that baby at any moment"
It's kinda funny, and maybe a bit true.
The fact is that I haven't dropped at all
I have had a tiny bit of verrrrrrry mild cramping.
I liken it to the pre-period feeling...you know the one that makes you think "well maybe I'll put something in my purse" kinda feeling.
Nothing I would call labor or even pre labor.

I think the hub's problem is that this came in his fortune cookie at dinner Friday.

I on the other hand still think I'm going to have to evict this kid!
I just have this overwhelming feeling he will be late.

I have, however, been getting things ready.
Like I posted last week, I started packing the hospital bags.
I'm 90% of the way done...
just need to toss a few more things in and put it all in the car.
I'm also going to put the car seat in this week too.

I made myself some nursing tanks yesterday!
4 for $20
can't beat that...considering how pricy some can be.
I took on making them mainly because with the size of my ta-tas it's almost impossible to find a nursing tank that fits now.
So I went to the store and picked up 4 tanks that have a straight back.
clipped the straps, looped and hand sewed.
now all I have to do is hook the loop around the clip on a nursing bra and I'm set!
And speaking of nursing bras...
HOLY COW
that was a fun shopping trip, I should reward the person who guesses at what size they lady at the bra shop wants me to order!
38 J
I almost cried.
No wonder I don't look "that pregnant", my boobs are taking over!

I also made some pee pee tee pees yesterday.
What's that you ask?
well it's a cone to cover the dudes junk so he doesn't pee all over us and the walls while changing his diaper!
I made 6, 3 for upstairs and 3 for down.
we plan on having a basket with changing stuff downstairs in the living room.
Same reason I have two nursing pillows...who wants to trek upstairs if you don't have to!
The tee-pees are so simple a quick to make, seriously took me about 15min to make all 6!

Up next is some newborn hats for the hospital...because I can and I kinda like the idea of him in something I made him right away.
That and I think the hospital hats (and blankets for that matter) are ugly.

now on to the bumpshots

That is totally a beach cover up and not a shirt...
I wear it as a shirt all the time!
so comfy.

I think he was a bit off to the side...looks like he's pointing at the 37 ;)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
We spent it landscaping....well the hubs did.
I made food and cleaned the house...
you know, inside where the AC is!

bumpdate week 34,35,36....wow!

So not much has happened in the last few weeks.
The dude is doing fantastic

I have been cleaning and attempting to get this house ready for a baby...
I laugh at that as I type it...I mean really, lets face it we will never be truly ready.

I just finished ordering the last of the registry items and they should be here in a week or so.
That has been one of my stresses, I have this need to know everything will be here before the dude gets here.
We are going to order a chunk of our cloth diaper stash tonight (about half) and then I'll feel way better...knowing that we will have at least enough to get us through part of a week. But I can't say that spending over $600 in a day is going to feel fantastic...hey ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

We went to a pool party yesterday, and I have to say that being in water was fantastic.
but sadly my back is still killing me today.
It's been a dull ache for about 3 days now, and it's almost as if my lower belly ligament pains have also been at a constant dull ache for about the same amount of time too.
I'm just thinking that I'm going to be in this state until I have this kid...looks like I'll be taking a bunch of baths!

I've also been so wiped out, I feel like I could "nest" my heart out if I could just have a bit more energy!
There is so much I want to do, but I just can't seem to muster up the will to do too much.
It's annoying.

We got a new nephew on Wednesday!
He decided that he didn't want to stay put and came out one day shy of 38 weeks.
They named him Camden and I can't wait to kiss his cheeks!
I hate that they are so far away.
Andy wanted to hop in the car and head there today and come back home Monday...but I really don't think I can handle a care ride that's 8+hrs and to top that off we wouldn't have anyone to watch the dog...since his parents take her whenever we go anywhere and well...they are where we would be going.

So anyways...bumpshots:

31&32 bumpdate

I was totally going to post this on Sunday...
and well, our internet had different ideas.
So we decided to go shopping instead ;)

We ordered the glider for Dude's room and got some buckets and hangers for his closet.
I spent ALLLLL day yesterday doing laundry.
I started at noon and finished folding my last load around 7:45 last night.
Then I made myself ice cream...because I'm pregnant and I can.

I went to the doc on Friday {regular appointment} and my mom happened to have the day off so she came along.
Doc felt and figured Dude is head down! and she let my momma feel his little head and listen to his heartbeat.
I'm measuring right on at 32, and his heartbeat is a strong 150!
She said I'm considered a very normal, low risk pregnancy...which is so odd to hear after going through the battle of infertility.

There's not much else to report.
Things are seeming pretty normal, I am starting to have a hard time sleeping due to discomfort and I've been getting what I call gas trapped under my ribcage...that sucks a big one. It hurts so bad! the first time it happened it was the middle of the night and I almost woke Andy up to take me to the ER because it hurt so bad and nothing I did would help.
It went away thanks to a swig of Pepto {witch my doc said is just fine}.

I'm also still losing weight.
I'm down 10lbs {so says the scale} since I got pregnant.
add in the 15 or so pounds that I have gained in baby and boob and I'm guessing I'm down about 25lbs since I got pregnant.
Doc said she's not worried since I'm measuring on schedule and his heartbeat is where it's supposed to be, so I'm not worried.
It's odd because I EAT...like more than I ever did in my life before!

I'm also debating our name choice for the Dude...
I just don't know how I feel about it.
It's a good name, it'll fit for all parts of life...
but I'm not totally in LOVE with it.
we'll see how I feel when I see him.

30 week bumpdate

So I lied when I said that I would blog more..
but to my defense I have been cleaning my house like a mad mad, that is when I'm not napping!
because good Lord this past week I've been getting so warn down it's not even funny.

I did manage to clean my kitchen from top to bottom...and I mean top to bottom! in one day thanks to my mom's help. That woman has been a life saver, I don't think I could have kept going without her this week. Ever notice how much easier it is to do stuff when someone else is there to talk to and keep you going.

So what's new this week?
-every time the dude moves it is uncomfortable.
-dude also likes to play xylophone on my rib cage.
-I think my pelvis is separating, I feel like I pulled a muscle down there.
-my ta-tas are still being fickle, they don't like the gold bond powder. They started to crack and peel.
-I can go maybe an hour max before I have to pee again...it's fantastic.
-We registered for classes, childbirth, breastfeeding, and a mommy and me class. It kinda has me excited and terrified at the same time.

Now on to some pictures.

a top view
 and a side view

and just for some fun, a 20/30 comparison.

I have also become obsessed with the show Fringe...
oh so good...for a nerd like me.

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend.

Bumpdate {26, 27, & 28}

wow I'm what one would call a suck-tastick blogger.
But in my defense...SCHOOL.
It has been Hell
I feel like I don't even have time for myself, yet I'm going to miss it so much.
I have finals this week, I'm going into both with a high B, so really I'm not worried. I looked at this semester and said "all I care about is passing".
I'm not looking to get the A, hell I'll settle for the low C!

I do promise that within the next few weeks (aka: after finals) I will be blogging more. I have posts that I have been wanting to write since I got pregnant, and maybe then I'll have some time to do them!
I also have some craft projects...and an Etsy shop to open!
I have gifts to finish making and new ones to make and send.
I have a house to decorate.
I have a baby to get ready for!

So I'm sorry I've been missing, both in posting and in keeping up on my reading and comments!
I'll be better soon.

So on with the updates!

The last 3 weeks has been a whirlwind but a good one.

-Dude is now the size of an Eggplant {according to TheBump}but that's what I thought he was at 25...this whole fruit/veggie thing confuses me!
-He is kicking and rolling like crazy
-my feet have taken to swelling when I don't put them up now...not bad, but still annoying!
- I'm on the hunt for maternity capri jeans, it's getting warmer and I can only wear my yoga capris so many days in a row.
-Sleep still alludes me most nights, I now get up every hour to pee...and that wakes the kid up and he proceeds to kick for about 20-30 min...which keeps me up. So I'm not sleeping much.
- my lower back is KILLING me. I got a massage for mothers day! booking that bad boy SOON
-Heartburn has it's moments, still not so bad that a huge thing of milk doesn't help.
-I don't think my belly button is ever going to be an outie...it's still one knuckle deep...yes I check...yes I'm odd.
-I've acquired a heat rash under my ta-tas. I'm going to try out GoldBond powder because regular isn't working. {if anyone has any suggestions I'd be grateful}
-I'm walking for graduation on Saturday...better late then never! {my gown is HUGE...like fit 3 people in it huge. mom and I are going to try to fix it on Friday}
- I have my showers in a few weeks. One on the first and one on the second. I need to find something cute to wear to both!

Now the photos:

and some others
The hubs FINALLY got to feel the little guy move! I guess all it took was a architectural boat tour of Chicago. My friend happened to catch it with her phone, not knowing it was the first time he was feeling the dude...I can't believe we have this moment on photo.
ps- Andy's face cracks me up! it was so sunny so he was squinting.

and I couldn't help but show you this pic of the dog...
the look on her face.
I can't get over it.
So please keep my in your thoughts! Finals tomorrow, and a good buy to one of the best teachers I will ever have. I don't think I'm even going to bother with makeup...I know I'm just going to cry it off.

25 {and 24} week bumbpdate

ya I've been suuuuuper busy. School is sucking my life away. 3 more weeks and I'm done and I'm so ready...I feel like I have no time for myself or anything but school at the moment. It will be so nice to actually have some me time soon!

I missed last weeks updates...it was a packed week.

How far along?
  25 weeks
How big is baby?
the Bump says cauliflower, but I've also heard eggplant.
Maternity Clothes:
still some regular...depending on their stretch, but I''m 90% in maternity because I don't want to stretch out all my cloths.
Movement:
He's kicking stronger now, last I was sitting on the couch, kinda leaning on my side and I had my arm resting on my side/belly and he kicked so hard it nudged my arm...so cool.
Sleep:
this week was better than last, I have been able to fall back asleep rather quickly when I get up to pee, but the dreams are some of the oddest ever.
Best moment this week:
Last weekend we spent a ton of time together and with another couple. Grilled out and played bags in the back yard...played with the dogs {theirs and ours} and just had an all around amazing sunny weekend. {thanks to no homework}
I also passed my glucose test!
Miss Anything?
I could have used a nice cold beer with my brat this weekend, but lemon-aid did just fine.
Symptoms:
lower back pain, headaches and the sharp round ligament pains have started.
Cravings/Aversions:
I still want pie {apple please} and milk...sometimes I just HAVE to have a glass.
Weekly wisdom:
Finishing college while pregnant is hard, also don't sign yourself up for anything past 8pm...you'll regret it.
Looking forward to:
being done with school {3 more weeks!} so that I can get the house in order and get it ready for the little man to get here!

24 weeks pictures:
got this skirt at Old Navy when I first got pregnant, so excited to finally get to wear it!
{thanks to the ONE warm day so far}

25 weeks pictures:

And just for some fun a comparison:
15, 20, 25
I'm thinking the boob growth is making it look like I haven't gotten much bigger!
The fact that I went up 2 cup sizes between week 20 and 25 is making my belly look the same.
also how funny is it that my hair is done the same way in all three photos?!? guess I really like the half up look.

23 week bumpdate

I have been so bad at reading and commenting on blogs {and posting!}, I hate it!
Hopefully that will change in the next week or so...but I doubt it

How far along?
  23 weeks, 3days
How big is baby?
a grapefruit!
Maternity Clothes:
yep, I'm in big but regular yoga capris today!
Movement:
mostly in the mornings and evenings...little bugger doesn't want to move when anyone has their hand on my stomach, but I have felt some kicks and punches lately.
Sleep:
doing ok, I'm still having problems falling back to sleep after bathroom runs. The husband snoring isn't helping either!
Best moment this week:
everything is mostly normal around here...would it be too nerdy of me to say watching the new Doctor Who???
Miss Anything?
getting up off the couch quickly...
Symptoms:
the headaches haven't killed me this week, but the heartburn is kicking in full force now! also have constant back pain now too...woo hoo
Cravings/Aversions:
pie...I'm sure if given a fork and whip cream I could eat an entire apple pie all by myself. I wouldn't turn down some baklava either....
Weekly wisdom:
hire someone to paint the nursery, just the simple act of asking someone else to do it has lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. It also helps to have cousins that run a painting business ;)
Looking forward to:
more of this fantastic weather! FLIP FLOPS!!!

I don't feel like I've gotten any bigger in the last few weeks, I need to put the last few pictures together and see.
{now if school would let me do anything but homework maybe I could! May can't get here fast enough}

22 week bumpdate

yesterday was a moccasin kinda day

I can't believe I hit 6 months! I also forgot to take a side view shot...
it was a crazy day...and I had a family scare.

How far along?
  22 weeks, 1day {6months}
How big is baby?
a papaya!
Maternity Clothes:
almost totally in them, still pulling out a few shirts, but I really don't want to stretch out all my cloths and have nothing after baby!
Movement:
he's a mover and a shaker in the mornings and evenings. I felt him kick from outside last night for the first time!
Sleep:
doing ok, I do have a hard time falling back to sleep after a pee run.
Best moment this week:
Snow day on Monday, spending 2 days with my momma this week and feeling him kick.
Miss Anything?
eating and drinking without getting heartburn.
Symptoms:
haven't had a migraine this week{knock on wood}, heartburn, lower back pain...I also have a tooth ache :(
Cravings/Aversions:
still don't want red meat or chicken, fell like I could eat a turkey sandwich everyday all day...stupid listeria!
Weekly wisdom:
wrap your loved ones in bubble wrap {I'll explain below}
Looking forward to:
hosting Easter brunch again this year and seeing family.

so on to why you should wrap your loved ones in bubble wrap...

That is my cousin they are pulling out of the passenger side.
She is ok, but had to have surgery on her leg.
her boyfriend was driving and not paying attention...{probably texting}
they hit a phone pole and she hit her head on the windshield and had a compound fracture in her leg...
she is 6 states and a 24hr car ride, $600 plane ticket or $300 bus or train ticket away from me.

for an hour all I knew was that she was in a car accident that involved a phone pole and the windshield. I was so scared {and home alone} I just sad and cried and prayed the entire hour.
It took them 4hrs to get her into surgery, I don't know why.

Please please don't text and drive.

a late 21 week bumpdate

yes I know I'm late on this but I'm seriously stressing about the fact that there are only like 6 weeks left to this semester...and then I graduate.
I'm a bit freaked out about it.

so since not much has changed I'll just give you a rundown of the week.
The kid is now the size of a pomegranate

He kicks me constantly, but sadly my placenta is in the front and he is feet down so you can't feel him from the outside yet.

- Last weekend we did our gender reveal party, such a fun idea.
I ate my weight in pie and got to see family I haven't seen in a while.
- we registered for the little dude, and will make it all "live" soon, I'm still adding and tweeking.

- Monday was filled with a bad headache and classes

- Tuesday I spent some time with my cousin and came home reasured that I'm not insane for wanting to bring the little man inot this world all natural.

- Wednesday consisted of more classes and a d-bag teacher posting that his giving us an extra week on the assignment was, in fact, a mistake...cue me having a major panic...over a 1000 words due by 8pm!

- Thursday my mom and I went thrifting! Got some good stuff, to witch my mom wouldn't let me pay for...she's going to gift me a huge basket for my shower!
we also got our new dryer delivered on Thursday! woo hoo for clean undies!

- Friday was a work all day kinda day, and I was not feeling too hot from all the walking and shopping the day before...I mostly whined all day.

- Today I was forced (by the hubby and the baby) to eat a hotdog...ugh
I'm doing all sorts of homework this weekend...booo

This is the oh so comfy outfit my mom got me (minus the cardigan)
New maternity shirt from Motherhood...it feels like butter it's so soft!
and new skinny jeans from Old Navy!

ok I'm off to do way too much homework now :(

20 week bumpdate

so I have decided that doing two post a week on baby belly stuff is just too many, sooooo it's all going to be one from now on it will just be one long picture and info dump!
 Here goes!

How far along?
20 weeks, half way there, half way done!
How big is baby?
a banana
Baby weighs about 10.2 ounces and measures about 6.5 inches.
Have you started to show yet?
yes, I feel like I'm shoving my gut out...but I'm not.
Maternity Clothes:
still in a mix of things
Movement:
stronger by the day, and mostly when I sit and rest or when loud noises are near...like Marley barking.
Sleep:
besides getting up a gazillion times a night to pee I'm doing ok, not fantastic but ok.
Best moment this week:
Spring Break Baby! I've had some time to myself this week and it's been fantastic.
Miss Anything?
turkey sandwiches, I think I would give anything for one at the moment.
Symptoms:
Migraines and back aches are on the top of the list these days.
Cravings/Aversions:
still living in a cheese and carb world mostly, which is annoying since I would kill for some chicken, but it still gives me the yucks.
Weekly wisdom:
you may plan for a whole week of things to do, you will probably only get one or two things on the list done...sorry.
Looking forward to:
Finding out what this little peanut is IN THE MORNING!!!

now on to the picture dump!
gift from one of Andy's employees, so super cute!

lazy Saturday at home

 Sunday

Sunday's instagram photo

Tuesday's breakfast date with my grandma

Wednesday was brought to you by the comfiest pants I own and my warmest sweater!
I sat around waiting all day for a dryer repair man that never showed up or called!

Today, so cute just to run to the store...but this sweater from Gap is the softest.

I'm also working on some of the party details for Sunday's reveal! and on a shamrock shirt for the pie party!
mmmmm pie
{Today is pi day (March 14: 3-14 since pi is 3.14), so enjoy a pie}
